Physics@FOM Veldhoven

Each year in January, Physics@FOM Veldhoven takes place, a large congress providing a topical overview of physics in the Netherlands. Traditionally, young researchers get the opportunity to present themselves and their work alongside appealing names from the Dutch and international physics community. Physics@FOM Veldhoven 2011 will be held on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 January 2011 at NH Koningshof in Veldhoven. 

The past edition, Physics@FOM Veldhoven 2010, included condensed matter, nanoscience and -technology, statistical physics, atomic, molecular and optical physics, physics of fluids and subatomic physics. Pictures of the event can be viewed here.

Organisation
FOM sets up a steering committee for each edition of Physics@FOM Veldhoven. The steering committee decides on the overall set-up of Physics@FOM Veldhoven. The steering committee sets up a programme committee to complete the programme. The steering committee for Physics@FOM Veldhoven 2010 consisted of Frank Linde (Nikhef), Jan-Kees Maan (RU), Albert Polman (AMOLF) and Anton van Steenhoven (TU/e).

Programme committee 2010
The Programme committee succeeds each year in creating an appealing and varied programme. As an example, the full programme is still available. The Programme committee of 2010 was made up of Herman Clercx (TU/e), Mark Golden (UvA), Martin van Hecke (LEI), Jennifer Herek (UT), Sijbrand de Jong (RU) en Herre van der Zant (TUD).
