Industrial Partnership Programme (IPP)
commercialization'If you really want to bridge the gap between fundamental research and industrial research then you must regularly sit down for a cup of coffee together.' FOM's Industrial Partnership Programmes (IPPs) are a tangible expression of this idea.
In an IPP, FOM staff carry out fundamental research over a period of several years in close contact with industrial researchers in areas with a good potential for innovation and challenging scientific questions. It is therefore collaborative research that could deliver groundbreaking innovations.
FOM has outstanding and often long-term relationships with industrial partners. Companies not only value the results from research with FOM but also the quality of FOM's researchers, many of whom later take up positions in industry.
FOM researchers have been trained in a creative and autonomous environment, have gained international experience and have learned to use state-of-the-art equipment. They not only possess the latest scientific knowledge and insights but have also been trained in aspects such as methodical working, giving clear presentations, valorisation and management techniques.
