A survey held in 2008 among former and current FOM PhDs revealed that those who chose to become entrepreneurs were highly successful but that relatively few made this choice. FOM wants to encourage more of its current and former employees to start their own company. To achieve this goal FOM will:
• Help interested FOM employees to complete a course in setting up your own business. For example, FOM can provide support in finding a suitable course and, in certain, cases, make a financial contribution towards the costs of the course.
• Help FOM employees in setting up their own company, e.g. on a trial basis providing a loan to the value of two years of salary. You can find more information here.
The survey into entrepreneurship was processed by FOM into the booklet 'Pionieren met bètapassie'. You can download this booklet at the top right of this page (available in Dutch only). You can also request a printed copy of the booklet via info@fom.nl.
