FOM --> NWO --> 2017
From 2017 onwards the current FOM organisation will form a new NWO organisation together with the other NWO units. During the course of 2017 all of the information on this website will be modified in accordance with the new organisation structure of NWO. For further information we refer you to the information page about the NWO transition.

  • FOM has been organising the 'FOm/f Symposium' for female physicists for many years. The last symposium took place in 2014 in the Railway Museum in Utrecht. This was the last FOm/f Symposium. Considering the NWO Transition, as from now FOM will jointly participate in/organise the conference 'Insight Out'

  • The Minerva Prize is awarded once every two years to a female writer of the best physics publication in order to draw attention to the research of female physicists. The Minerva Prize is a conferred honour and the laureate is an inspiring example to other women.

    In the 'Charter Talent naar de Top' the participants commit themselves voluntarily, but not without obligations, to an active policy to improve the flow of women to top-positions in their organisation.

  • The American National Postdoc Association has an 'ADVANCE' programme aimed at helping female postdocs to make the step to a successful scientific career. Within the context of this programme an online brochure has been published containing tips about how female postdocs can best combine pregnancy leave and parental leave so that they can continue to work on their career as well.
